About

Bridgend Inspiring Growth is a local voluntary group working towards the development of the site of Bridgend farmhouse to become a community owned and led multi-purpose space to promote sustainable living practices and outdoor learning.

We have held various meetings, events and trainings since the first Public Meeting on June 8th 2010. We actively encourage others to get involved or add ideas and suggestions, and attend any steering group meetings if they wish. This is a great possibility to own and control this local building to provide the kinds of activities, services and facilities you think would be good for this area.

We are Scottish registered charity main aim is:

The r   "The renovation and restoration of the historic Bridgend Farmhouse as a community owned and run resource centre for the use and benefit of local people, groups and organisations, promoting resilient and sustainable futures."

There are currently 154 members, 22 organisational supporters and 7 charity trustees. Anyone is welcome to join any of these for free.

We have two main focuses:

  1. The development of the site of Bridgend Farmhouse for wider community development and growth for people in the local area.
  2. Providing educational and training opportunities for local people and organisations that utilise the local environment, knowledge and history.

There is a range of information on the progress and suggestions so far under the different headings on this blog. There is also a questionnaire and membership form if you would be kind enough to offer your views and would like to be a member.

If you would like to donate in any way to help with the renovation and the vital work that needs to be done to restore it please get in contact at bridgendfarmhse@gmail.com
